No Going Back LA

The Committee for Greater LA came together in 2020  to understand the effects of COVID on different populations throughout Los Angeles County. They needed eye-catching branding to reflect the creative nature of this venture and to capture the attention of the youth. Their goal is to highlight the significant discrepancies present in Los Angeles by presenting statistics and facts in an engaging way.

The main No Going Back Logo is formatted in a narrow bold typeface. It evokes a youthful edge while recalling the timelessness of political posters throughout history. LA is formatted in Helvetica Neue. These two fonts contrast and compliment each other well. Narrow and wide, thin and thick. Helvetica is also paying tribute to the Subway and Metro stations of the city. It is the main font used in many major metropolitan areas, which allude to the movement of modern cities.

The colors are also inspired by the colors utilized in the Metro and Subway lines. This further ties the idea of movement and community of metropolitan areas. The colors are bright and lively. Eye-catching and hopeful.
